WeMatter

FAQ

Quick answers to common questions about launching, completing, submitting, editing, and using Foundation in WeMatter.

Where do I find Foundation?

Most people find their own Foundation from the dashboard. If a Foundation is already live or has previously been completed, it appears there.

People with responsibility for others can also use the main Foundation area to search for and open Foundations across the organisation.

What is the difference between Live and Submitted?

Live means the Foundation is still being worked on. Submitted means it has been completed and formalised.

Once submitted, the Foundation becomes read-only until it is unsubmitted again.

Why can’t I edit my Foundation?

The most common reason is that it has already been submitted.

A submitted Foundation is read-only by design. If something needs to change, go back to the summary page, unsubmit it, update the relevant sections, and submit it again.

How do I know what is left to do?

The dashboard gives you the clearest view. It shows the completion percentage, the step structure, and the next incomplete part that still needs attention.

The summary page then becomes the final review point before submission.

Do I have to complete Foundation in one sitting?

No.

Foundation is designed to be worked through over time. You can save your answers, leave, and return later. The important thing is to make sure written reflections are saved before moving away from them.

How do I change an answer after submission?

Return to the summary page and choose Unsubmit. That reopens the Foundation for editing. You can then revisit the relevant section, save the new answer, and submit again when the reflection feels right.

Can I delete Foundation?

Yes. The dashboard provides a delete action with a confirmation step.

Deletion is the stronger option and is best used when the Foundation should no longer exist, for example because it was launched in error.

Who can access my Foundation?

Your own Foundation is visible to you. Relevant authorised roles in your organisation, such as admins and WeMatter leads, may also have access depending on the product rules and relationship model in place.

Because Foundation is personal, access is more limited than some other parts of WeMatter.

How is Foundation used later in WeMatter?

Foundation gives the rest of the platform better context.

It can shape how scorecards are interpreted, make later conversations more specific, and contribute to goal generation alongside frameworks and scorecards.

Will I only complete one Foundation?

No. Foundation is intended to be revisited as part of the wider WeMatter cycle.

That is useful because priorities, motivators, current reality, and future direction all change over time. A new Foundation helps keep that picture current.

How long do I have to complete my Foundation?

When Foundation is launched, it is launched with a deadline.

That deadline appears in the live Foundation, helping everyone understand the expected timeframe for completing the reflection.
