Foundation results
See what your staff prioritise, what drives them and where they want to grow, from their latest submitted Foundations.
Overview
Foundation results is a live Signals dashboard. It answers:
Who are the people in my organisation? What do they prioritise? What are their drivers? Where and how are they looking to grow?
Use it to decide which working conditions, support and development to invest in. Every chart leads to the named people behind it and their own reflections. It recalculates from today's data each time you open it.
Organisation admins and WeMatter RPO users can open it from Signals.
Whose answers are used
Staff
Staff are the people in your organisation whose profiles are not deleted. Admins are included. WeMatter RPO users are not.
Each person's latest submitted Foundation
Each person contributes the answers from their latest submitted Foundation:
- A newer Foundation that is still in progress doesn't replace the submitted one. Someone can be outstanding on Foundation completion and still be represented here.
- A Foundation that has been reopened stops counting until it is submitted again. If the person has an older submitted Foundation, that one is used instead.
- Answers that haven't been submitted are never shown or downloaded.
Answers submitted
Older answers don't expire. Answers submitted narrows the dashboard to answers submitted any time (the default), within 12 months or within 6 months. Each person's latest submitted Foundation is chosen first; if it is older than the window, that person is left out rather than falling back to an even older one.
Coverage
The coverage card shows how many staff are represented, how many have no submitted Foundation and, when a window applies, how many are left out because their answers are older. The bar shows everyone by the age of their latest submitted Foundation.
Reading the charts
Each chart counts only people with a usable answer for that question and says how many that is. A missing answer is never counted as zero or as "None apply right now", and it only leaves that person out of that one chart.
An answer is usable when it is complete, as the Foundation itself requires: exactly three priorities, all twelve drivers sorted, at least one growth opportunity or "None apply right now", a share of time on work and a five-point performance rating.
| Chart | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Professional priorities | How many people chose each priority. Everyone chooses three, so percentages add up to more than 100%. |
| Personal drivers | Where people placed each driver: energise most, also important, or less important right now. Ordered by energise most. |
| Growth opportunities | How many people chose each opportunity. People can choose several, so percentages add up to more than 100%. "None apply right now" is shown separately at the end. |
| Work life harmony | The median share of time people say work takes up, the middle half of answers, and one dot per person across three neutral ranges. Nothing is graded. |
| Current performance | People's own rating of their recent performance. This is self-reported, not a manager assessment. |
Current performance uses the five-point scale. Ratings recorded on the retired four-point scale are left out rather than converted, and the chart says how many. That person's other answers still count.
Choosing a priority, driver or opportunity doesn't tell you whether it is being met or available. People describe that in their reflections.
Filters and the whole organisation
Filter by department, region, manager or WeMatter lead. People without one appear in an explicit group, such as "No department". The filters and the answer window are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark or share a view with colleagues who have access.
While a filter is active, the priority, driver (energise most) and growth charts mark the whole organisation's percentage on each bar and show the difference in points. The harmony card names the whole organisation's median.
Group totals can exceed your staff total
People with several managers or WeMatter leads count in each of their groups, while overall totals count them once.
The people behind an answer
Select any bar, driver segment, harmony range or performance rating to open a panel that keeps your filters.
- People lists everyone who gave that answer, with their role, submission date and their selections for that section. Open a reflection to read it in full. A reflection covers the whole section, not only the chosen answer. View Foundation opens their submitted Foundation.
- Compare groups (priorities, drivers and growth only) shows the same answer for each department, region, manager or WeMatter lead, with a line for everyone in view. Order by highest, lowest or largest, and search when there are many groups.
Groups with fewer than 5 usable answers are listed separately below a "read with care" divider, so a 1-of-1 group can't top the ranking. Small groups are never hidden. Groups without usable answers come last.
Work life harmony and current performance aren't compared across groups: comparing self-ratings by manager could be misread as a judgement of managers.
Downloads
Download CSV offers three files. Each one uses the current filters and answer window.
- Chart totals: every chart's counts, denominators and percentages.
- By group: every priority, driver (energise most) and growth answer, one row per group, for the grouping currently chosen under Compare groups.
- People and answers: one row per represented person with their groupings, submission date and structured answers. Performance uses the five-point scale only.
Written reflections are not included in any download.
